This book was very helpful. I know practically nothing about Search Engine Optimization. This book laid out the basics in an easy to understand format, without using a lot of technical jargon that the average person can't follow. It details the popularity of search engine usage, and explains why it is so important to maximize a site's listing so that more people see it. The information covered will help me bring more visitors into my sites and generate more ad revenue. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to familiarize themselves with SEO marketing.

The book is strictly meant for those professionals involved in the field of putting together one of these loan arrangements or in doing trading of the created loans in a secondary market. It appears comprehensive, at least to a layman. And even for the latter, much of the text can be intelligible with careful parsing.

The biggest contrast between loans and stocks and bonds arises when considering trading. Stocks are, in some sense, fungible. So too with bonds. But the authors point out that this is certainly not so with loans. Each loan is often customised. Which adds a complexity that can defy easy valuations for trading purposes. To wit, a key section of the text addresses how to price such loans. Non-trivial.

The Handbook of Loan Syndications and Trading should be required reading for banking lawyers, bankers and borrowers. As a law school professor teaching in this area and former banking lawyer, the book opens up an area that is quickly transforming and changing the world's credit and lending markets. I found the book to be highly readable, concise and extremely helpful. The book is equally as valuable for the expert as well as the novice.

Although the LSTA helped drive its publication, the book is not a shill for the loan syndication market. Instead, its involvement has served as a catalyst to enlist authors who are truly the best and the brightest in this area. Without its involvement, many of these authors would probably never have participated in such an undertaking.

The book is valuable on both a micro and macro basis. It provides an excellent overview of the loan syndications market, helping the reading to appreciate and understand its depth, development and sophistication. On a micro level, the Handbook provides detailed analysis and instruction for those involved in negotiating and trading loans on a day to day basis. The Handbook is also easily accessed, with an excellent table of contents, index and glossary, allowing the reader to pick and choose topics of interest.

I recently received and read The Handbook of Loan Syndications and Trading. I purchased it because I am a lawyer who has recently begun working in the real estate and mortgage loan trading area, and wanted to get some deeper background on the loan sales and trading business operations of the financial institution clients I serve.

The Loan Sales and Trading Association (LSTA), the trade association for the loan sales and trading industry, has outdone itself with this fine book, which is a model of clarity which will set the standard in this field for years to come. It has contributions from a host of top experts in this field. In 20 years of practicing law, this work is by a country mile the most comprehensive and clearest professional book I have ever read. It does exactly the job I needed of providing the business background for a lawyer who works in this area. It would also be of great value to people who work in the financial services industry who work in the loan sales and trading area, as well as to those who work in other financial services areas who need to understand the expansive growth and functioning of the loan sales and trading field.

I cannot recommend this superb book highly enough.

I've been out of work a long time, and I find it discouraging. I've bought several different books of several different kinds in order to try to get a start over. Of course, one big group of books are generally about "trading" for a living. It has some appeal. It isn't necessary to ask someone for permission to buy and sell shares of stock. Still, if it were so terribly easy, most people would make it work. Do they? Some statistics published for the Taiwan exchange a few years ago suggest that most amateur traders don't just lose SOME of their trading accounts. Something around 85% of amateurs lose EVERYTHING in a reasonably (or unreasonably) short time. So, in order to "not lose," you have to be better than 85% of the people. It turns out that another 10% or so of people just manage to waffle around, making a little, losing a little, and more or less breaking even. Only the top 5 to 7 percent of people make some money. A smaller group make LOTS of money. So, it isn't unwise to be in the top few percent of all trading practitioners---in order to make money. This, of course, is daunting. The value of the present book is quite great. Having scared myself silly with lots of statistics about nightmare trading, I can see the way a successful trader goes about it. First, he's not trying to make a fortune from a tiny trading account. That is, he isn't counting on doubling or tripling his account every year or two just to stay alive. Second, he isn't dependent upon the highest mathematical skills or the instantaneous news feeds that one might imagine to be necessary. He explains the tools he uses. He explains how he uses them. Most importantly, he explains the mind set required to do this particular business. The mind set required is much more light hearted than I ever get. It's all okay if it goes a bit one way or a bit the other. It's a game, and not deadly serious. Do you see? Yes, I see. However, for me that sort of thing IS deadly serious. It only means that this niche doesn't suit me. I'll be better off trying something else for now. That, I think, is a very good service. The REASON for me not to do this is not so much that my skills are wrong for it (I would gladly hone any new skill) or that my focus is weak. None of that is true. In actual fact, my temperament doesn't fit it, and it is neither possible nor actually useful to change one's own temperament to suit a niche. This is very useful information. I've had an e-mail or two with him, too. He's a splendid and pleasant fellow. It's a good idea to buy his book. It is nice to read it, too, but buying it is the first thing.

The book is a bargain at this price. It's got the usual advice that most relationship books tell women, but with the caveat of being written from the point of view of wanting to get an ex to come back. It might help you discover if you even want the person back by the time you get done reading it! The author put an important section in about abusive relationships that all women should read. Abuse comes in many forms, some less noticeable than others. It's a quick read for busy people, but the problem with that is it doesn't delve into too much detail and the messages might be lost if you don't slow down and concentrate on what's being said. The advice is true, and written in a concise method that is not at all difficult to comprehend while not condescending either. I would recommend this book as a helpful addition to relationship books for most women, or for those who are over-achievers this might be all you need to get the message. Either way, the price cannot be beat and the advice is spot-on.

I've been using a previous version of this software (VideoStudio Pro X2) for a couple of years now, so I was already familiar with the basic principles of how to put together a video. I am by no means an expert, but I'm able to produce nifty videos at high quality with some cool effects. Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 Ultimate is (obviously) even better, with hundreds of preset effects and styles, and 100 new sound effects. (Finally! A laugh track!)

If you have no knowledge of how to put a video together, you will probably be quite lost at first. It would help if you practiced with the simple video programs that come with most computers (such as Windows Movie Maker). Once you can master that, you'll be able to at least create a basic video with VideoStudio Pro X4 Ultimate. Then you can spend the time learning all the bells and whistles.

In the few days that I've had the software, I haven't been able to try out every feature. I think time-lapse video and clay-mation might be a bit beyond my abilities. However, I was able to take some source video, edit it by cutting off sections, add a title at the beginning.

Adding a title actually wasn't immediately intuitive - it took me a few tries to figure it out. I noticed you could also add pictures to your videos, and there was a large collection of designs. I am not sure how often I would use those, as they may obstruct the view of the content. However, it seemed pretty cool. You could also process the image in several ways, much like Photoshop. After working with a video, it was easy to produce a file or share it to Youtube. Overall, it's quite intuitive - I didn't once crack the user manual.

In many ways, it has the same feature set as Windows Movie Maker, with many improvements. On my older computer, it actually runs faster and crashes less often. It also is able to read mpeg files, something I couldn't open before. If you can use Windows Movie Maker, you can use this software.

Many reviewers have mentioned this software as being "intuitive" and that they didn't have to crack the manual. I can only assume that those reviewers weren't trying to do very complicated things with the software-- which is totally fine. There's a great market for people who want nothing more than to create little personal videos for family or online use. However, for those of us who want to "take it to the next level" without months or years of studying, you can definitely do that with this software.

Until now, most of my home movies were made using One True Media-- a super online service for beginners that makes it very easy to make short videos combining photos and digital video clips with music and effects to share online or burn to DVD. However, I had pushed that service to its max-- it gets very, VERY slow and tedious when you try to make long videos (mine were mostly around 30-45-minutes). The download times were appalling and there were certainly limitations to how much you could customize. So I was ready to try a more advanced program, and this one fit the bill.

I didn't find it quite as intuitive as others did. Some of the basic functions were simple to figure out, but if you want to explore the nitty-gritty bits that make this program what it is and set it apart from earlier versions, then you're probably going to need the manual and the online tutorials, and maybe some good ole' search engine help. For instance, I had problems figuring out how to get Mercalli to work to stabilize parts of my videos. When I tried to apply it to my clips, an error message would continually tell me to try again. Some poking around online finally led me to a video where a user showed the simple step I was missing that enabled Mercalli to work-- which was nowhere in Corel's manual. I loved Mercalli-- I was walking around during a parade while filming, and using this program, it looks so much smoother. Very little trial and error is necessary to figure out the right settings for particular types of clips.

I also wanted to figure out how to customize my audio tracks to fade in and out at particular intervals-- to be quiet during video clips and louder during still photos, for instance-- and couldn't figure that out entirely from the manual, either. It was a video from a VideoStudio Pro X2tutorial that walked me through the steps (even though the interface looked different, it was close enough that I could figure it out).

The newly-added Boris Graffiti is nice, too, to create titles and graphics that are more interesting than you'll find in simpler video programs. This will really allow you to get graphically creative if that's up your alley.

The program has crashed on me once in about 20 hours of heavy use (during audio uploading), but it saved my project, so it wasn't a big deal. However, I have a machine well above the specs required, so I was a bit disappointed that it crashed at all. It loads and uploads video, audio, and photos in a reasonable amount of time.

There are vast numbers of tutorials on YouTube that show how to really get the most out of the program using features like stop-motion animation, image correction, and advanced video editing techniques, so it really depends on how much time and effort you want to expend to get the best result. You can be satisfied with just studying the program for an hour or so and making a nice little video, or you can spend a month or two learning all the ins and outs and making really impressive videos that you can use to promote your business, preserve family memories, and so on.

I think it's a very fair price for all it includes, and quite a versatile program.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've deduced that this app was created by Handmark. How do I know? Because in cleaning my SD card, I found a Handmark folder with a subfolder labeled "Reuters." Unfortunately, this is AFTER I deleted the Reuters app from my Kindle Fire. Kindle Fires are known to have low internal memory, and I didn't like having to manually sleuth for space invaders, using 3rd party applications like AndroXplorer and ES File.

The app itself was interesting but couldn't compete with my RSS-style reader / Twitter apps.
