Great book for what it is --- a picture book to go through and find different attributes of decks you like and give to your deck builder. It's got a lot of large, full color pictures.

And that's how we used it. There's text in there, but I don't think we bothered to read much of it. Most of the writing tells you about things to think about -- like where to place your deck, sunlight concerns/thoughts, etc.

It does NOT spend a lot (or even any time) on how to build a deck from a technical perspective. Amazon seems to call it a DIY book or wants to based on tags. It's not.

Great Deck Ideas and Pictures, January 10, 2010

As I am planning a new deck, I purchased this book. It gave me lots of great ideas and pictures. It's not a how-to book, but great at creative and beautiful decking ideas. It shows great ideas of putting various composite decking colors together as accents and is for someone wanting ideas to take their deck up a notch. If u just want a square deck without benches, edging, composite, planters or unusual railing design, than this book isn't for you. But it's loaded with fantastic pictures that would give anyone new ideas to spruce up an ordinary deck plan. It espeically shows some creative rounded decks, like on the front page that u don't see very often and really look 21st century. I wanted a book to give ideas of a more contemporary and clean look than a traditional deck, so this book was great for me. I showed this book to my landscape designer and it gave us several good ideas and she said she was going to purchase it as a reference book.

After some usage, I can tell I have used this cellphone enough for writing a review. It is a nice phone with really cool features. The size is good enough for you to handle it comfortably. The camera takes good quality photos but not so good quality videos. It only works on GSM so Internet browsing is slow --probably also depends on the provider-- The bluetooth is easy to turn on/off and the speaker is really good for conferencing as it's very loud. The screen sensibility is cut at the corners/borders. It reads MP3s and the FM Radio works only with the earphone but it is OK. The games it comes with are really good --especially the sudoku one-- I plugged a 4GB microSD class 4 card and no problems detecting the card or uploading/downloading stuff from it.

Good, not great, February 10, 2011

You've read the specs on the phone; the screen is nice, the touch works about expected, the OS is laid out logically, and it has a few goodies & apps tucked away so that you feel its more than a basic phone. It also works with AT&T with no problem.

Physically, the phone is light, smaller than it appears, and the battery seems to be fine, although I don't talk a lot on my phone. The Camera works well in either landscape or portrait mode, and the camera app fast and works fine.

Here's the stuff that isn't so great:

1) While the phone supports bluetooth, it only appears to support very basic profiles, so it doesn't look like you can transfer pictures, addresses, and data with your computer which is a significant drawback
2) I was very disappointed to realize it doesn't support a normal headphone. Instead, it has a weird proprietary headphone jack, and the headphones supplied are about the lowest quality
3) The FM radio is great except that it won't play the FM radio without the headphones attached. But here's the weird part, once the headphone is attached you can play it through the speaker. You can't make this stuff up.
4) No WiFi, which means data access will always cost you money through your carrier.

I would buy it again. The screen quality and size make it worth $100. But don't expect this to compete with a smart phone. Its more like a basic phone with a few extras.

Everything is very satisfactoiry but the battery hours, May 26, 2010

Well, nobody is perfect. This samsung S5230 is not perfect either, has very well touch monitor (not sensitive); The body is light, good small size, good reception, good sound, good display, ok photo, allow MicroSD with a good size of memory, quad band and unlocked, well structured display interface and button placements, very responsive lock button, etc. etc... The battery life is terrible, between 24-30 hours with very light use, i.e. 3-4 calls a day of 2-5 minutes/each. However, with the price of $130s, compared to LG Vue, or even iPhone... I think I can live with that (I have iPod touch that is pretty similar to the iPhone, just w/o 3G, GPS and GSM capability). Not recommended for those who are traveling a lot, but good for those who stay stationary a lot The features are awesome.

I have been experiencing a re-occurring problem with Quickbooks 2010 for the last six months. It is hard to understand the technicians at the other end of the phone, the response time has been reasonable, but it takes so long for them to fix the thing. My biggest concern is that the first thing the technician does is try to sell you a service contract. Four times I had to tell him I am a simplistic user, have been using it for 20 years and not needed a service contract yet. Still they kept trying to get me to buy the contract. Then they try and sell me the 2012 version which they say has fixed this problem. They want to sell this to me at a discount--which is $50 higher than the Amazon price. I suggest to them the reason for the problem is that there is an issue with the software (since they eliminated the problem in 2012) and I am told it is my machine. This is a money grubbing company that doesn't care about its customers. After reading the comments here I will not upgrade since it is likely that I will experience other problems.

Despite all of the hoopla surrounding each new version, this version offers nothing new to 99.9% of users. As a CPA I have helped clients with QuickBooks for over 15 years and during that time I have seen a steady erosion in the usefulness of the program. It is large and cumbersome and much slower than older versions. My experience with the maker, Intuit is that they are not really a software company as much as they are a marketing company, using what once was a great product to squeeze more revenue out of their customers. It's still is a decent product, but don't upgrade unless you absolutely have to. If you are a new user, examine other products before you commit yourself to this once great and now mediocre product.
